full name kherington price nicknames kher, kheri birthdate / age october. 29, 1985, 29 hometown riverside county, ca residence venice, los angeles relationship status single pets jesse and james
kherington price is the only child of charles and loretta price, and it was clear from the time she was old enough to walk that she was never going to be someone who could sit still. she spent much of her early childhood getting into everything she could reach, winding up in the hospital on more than one occasion, and driving her parents up a wall. it was suggested to them by a doctor that they find a way to channel her energy into something productive, so they started by signing her up for dance classes at their local community center. she was fine for the first couple of classes, but it wasn't long before she was deemed far too rough for dance. their next resort was sticking her into martial arts - judo, specifically - with her cousin. luckily for her parents, and for her for that matter, that's an activity that stuck.

at first it was just something she enjoyed doing, kheri was far too young to take it seriously, but once she was old enough to realize that she was good at it all she wanted to do was train. it got to the point that her parents had to threaten to stop sending her to classes just to get her to do her homework and stop practicing in the house. their tune changed, however, when she advanced to a level that she was competing and winning. school was still important, of course, but judo started taking a lot more precedence. they got her involved with a more serious trainer, more competitions. if there had been a television show called toddlers in blackbelts, her parents would have been just as embarassing as mama june, if not more so.

her professional career was a whirlwind after that. she qualified for both the 2004 and 2008 olympics, taking home the bronze in the latter and becoming the first American to take home a medal in the sport since its inception. she competed in a number of tournaments, and won nearly as many. but after the olympics in '08, she decided she didn't just want to be the one-trick pony she'd been up to that point. she wanted something more. it was then she started to compete in mixed-martial arts tournaments.

it was rough going at first, getting noticed as a woman in a field that was mostly men. still she did her absolute best at every competition, fighting and training for a few years before finally getting into the strikeforce organization. she won tournament after tournament, even taking the women's bantamweight championship in 2012, which brought her to dana white and the UFC's attention. she started competing in the UFC in fall of 2012 as one of the first two females to be a part of the organization, and couldn't have been prouder of the accomplishment.

though she still loves mixed martial arts, and has no intention of leaving the UFC anytime soon, she also recognizes that it's not something she can do forever. she needs something to fall back on once her career is over. she's recently taken on a few acting credits, most notably in the expendables 3. they're action movies, so they play into her talents, but she's hoping with enough practice she can segue into acting before age drains her fighting ability.

one Genuinely obsessed with classic action films, especially westerns. two Has multiple tattoos, one on each ankle, one down her spine, two on her right arm, one on her hip, and one on the small of her back. three Has never done much in the way of dating, at least not in the public eye. She prefers to keep the focus (her own and that of the press) on her fighting and her burgeoning acting career. four Her reputation isn't the best, and a lot of people likely have the impression that she's not a nice person, but that's a lot of perception. The press (and the public in general) sees a confident, competitive woman and assumes she's a bitch, no matter how far that is from reality. five Has a bit of a nerdy side, and enjoys playing video games and reading comics in her spare time to wind down.
